FoodTrack ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Information We Collect

• Account identifier — when you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive an opaque user identifier. We use this to associate your meals with your account. We do not receive your name or email unless you choose to share it.
• Meal photos — photos you take are sent to our AI service to identify ingredients. Photos are not stored on our servers after analysis.
• Meal and nutrition data — ingredients, portions, and nutrition values you log are stored in your account to provide the app's core functionality.
• Device identifier — used by Firebase App Check to verify that requests come from our legitimate app.

How We Use Your Data

• To provide calorie and macro tracking features
• To recognize your regular meals faster over time using on-device machine learning
• To protect the app from unauthorized access via Firebase App Check

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Meal photos are processed by our AI provider solely to identify ingredients and are not retained. Nutrition data is sourced from USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts.

Data Storage

Your meal and nutrition data is stored securely in Firebase (Google Cloud). Data is associated with your account identifier only — not your name or email.

Your Rights

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app. You can also contact us to request deletion of your data.

Children's Privacy

FoodTrack is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page.
